relfection.

1. How are you different now than when you started school in August?
i think i am different bevcause its a school and you learn things at school like math english and STUFF.

2. What skills do you think are the most important for succeeding in Humanities? Why? i think reading and writing are the most important skills for humanities because thats what you would be doing the most of in that class.

3. One thing I would like to improve on this semester is doing all my work on time and handing it in on time I am going to do this by beinbg organized and doing all my work on time and doing all my work in class.

4. What are you curious about? If you could study any topic, what would you study and why? I would want to learn about law and the court and justice system.

WHAT IM GRATEFULL FOR

i am gratefull for my family and my doggy and my friends. They are important because they are very important to me and i dont know what i would do with out them. because they are all i have in my life. My friends are important to me because they entertain me and give me random stuff i guess. My doggy is important because she is there to entertain me and make me smile :).

i am thankfull for skateboarding because it is something to do when im bored and to work on and get better at. its also the foundation for my learning because it helps my feet eye coordination and i learn about it.

i am thankfull for music because it entertains me and i can relate to it and i like play it. i love al types of music and without it i would die.

Some of the differences in the book and in the movie are when Lily went to the dinner she didn't steal anything but in the book she stole snuff for Rosaleen. Also when T-Ray came to get Lily he grabbed her by the hair before they got a chance to talk and in the movie they talked first.

I think the book was better. It gave a better understanding of everything that was happening but the movie also literally showed what was happening. Besides reading is better for you than watching a movie. And in the book she didn't write her name with the spit jar. And it was kinda graphic how they beat her up.

All in all I think they did a good job on making the movie like the book except for a few parts but you can't have everything that the book had. I liked the music in the movie. It was very good with the violins and the partial piano playing. The ending was even sadder in the movie because of how T-Ray felt about his wife leaving him.

"Killing is like fucking" this is my least favorite line from the book. I think that is really gross and supports my idea too why we are reading such a book. I really don't know why we are reading such a inappropriate book. Anyways i think it is a good simile.

   "A spasm of the lungs" p.93 this shows this is such a good use of comparison. Its cool how they used the word spasm because its gives you a definite idea about how his lungs felt inside. It makes you feel like you are in the book.

       "While i feed these lubbers a yard of shit" pg.102.this also shows the language in the book. This also gives you a feel of what it sounds like to live back then. And how dirty some people were back then.

"with 65 pounds of bronze armor on " i think this is very striking because that is a lot of armor to wear for a fearsome soldier going to battle. i don't know how they can get around with all of that on. p.21

"i could feel the crown of the helmet tear up and off, shearing half my skull with it. The bottom lip of the eye hole had opened the muscles beneath the brow so that my left eye was sheeted with blood." there are some really intense scenes in this book . The description is SO good that it feels like its happening to you as you read the book. p. 64


sometimes it seems like this whole thing is a dream, because its always talking about all these injuries that probaly would kill you the first time but appearently not.

This year George Bush will finally be told to leave the White House. In his place will there be a old white man or a black man. The reason for choosing Obama is because he seems to have a lot of ideas. Besides I think America is ready for a change in presidency. But if I were to vote for McCain, it would be because he has more experience and he's been in government for a long time. We need someone like that when were going into a depression and we're at war.

I think some people just don't want to be viewed as racists so they stay on Obama's side. McCain has more experience in government. Hopefully he'd last throughout the time he is President. Another reason is because of Sarah Palin. She was the governor of Alaska so she has some experience. I think she is also young and energetic.

If I were to choose Obama, it would be because he is younger than McCain and has more people skills and is more energetic than McCain. Joe Biden, his running mate, has been around for a long time and knows a lot about foreign policy. He was also an attorney. According to Wikipedia he was a senator and reelected numerous times.
